In honor of Halloween I sketched out this little gal this morning...with her pet crow of course. Who doesn’t love witches and crows around Halloween time? Charcoal is the perfect medium to use for dark, spooky drawings. It can be heavy yet soft, fluid, and adds a hint of whimsy to just about anything. I like the finished drawings because they often look like a dream.
I also love charcoal because it’s very forgiving in the sense that if you mess up, you can just wipe it out quickly and keep going. It gives you room to make many mistakes without having to start completely over. Woah, think about that as it relates to life....mind-blown!
This Halloween I invite you to do something that scares you, become someone else for a night, or just eat a lot of candy! Enjoy these moments and holidays because they go by fast. Happy Halloween everyone!
