Daniela was born in Chicago, Illinois and still lives in the heart of the city today. Her parents were born in Serbia, married very young, had her sister, then her, and then her brother all a year apart. As immigrants they worked very hard and often struggled to give their children a great childhood. They raised them with morals and values that seem rare in our society today.
Coming from a bilingual and dual culture home, she often struggled with her identity as a child and teenager. As she grew older however, she came to appreciate those differences; they made her more curious and accepting of other cultures and other people, and today she is thankful to have had such a unique upbringing.
Although her love and passion for art began as a child, she did not begin her career as an artist until her early thirties; she was discouraged from pursuing a career as an artist in her younger years. She respected her parents' hard work too much to pursue her passions, and chose to follow their advice and suggestions towards a career in marketing. Ten years later, still unhappy in her field of work, she slowly began to pursue a degree in studio arts.
Today she is a certified art teacher and artist, working to encourage our youth to develop their own artistic habits and intrinsic appreciation of the arts, while still pursuing her own passions as an emerging artist.
Although the journey has been long and difficult, she has never been as intoxicatingly happy in her career and life as she is today.
